Check in Brazil which titles are available, which require a subscription, and which languages are available.
The step-by-step guide below organizes the installation, account setup, subtitles, and playback on your mobile phone. It's based on the functions described by the services; button and option names may vary by version. Start with the title you want to watch and confirm the conditions on the episode page.
Before subscribing, consider three questions: Is the episode included, is there Portuguese audio or subtitles, and does your device support the desired feature? Downloading and streaming to TV may have additional requirements. A series with free initial episodes doesn't necessarily unlock the rest after a while.

Viki: Install, create an account, and watch the first episode.
Viki brings together dramas and other Asian programs with community participation in the subtitles. Availability in Portuguese depends on the title and the progress of the translation. Use the official store page and check the developer, instead of just choosing a result with a similar name.
- Open Google Play, search for Viki, and tap Install on the result with that exact name. On iPhone, the app appears in the App Store as “Viki: dramas, movies, TV, Asia”.
- The app follows the phone's language: with Android set to Portuguese, the interface opens in Portuguese and the subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese appear at the top of the list.
- Tap Sign In and create an account using your email or Google account. You can watch without an account, but the list, episode progress, and new episode notifications are only available when logged in.
- On the home screen, use the magnifying glass and type the name of the drama. On the title page, tap the "Follow the series" button before tapping on the first episode.
- Once the episode is released, open the subtitle options and choose Portuguese, if available. Check the translation progress. If it's incomplete, use the update notification when offered; there's no guaranteed timeframe for the community to finish.

AndroidiQIYI: step-by-step on your mobile phone
iQIYI is the Chinese platform that brought a wave of fantasy and historical romance series to Brazil, and it's the highest-rated app of the four on the Play Store. Note: the app that opens in Brazil is the international version, listed in the store as "iQIYI – Movies, Series". The mainland China app does not appear on the Brazilian Play Store.
- Install via Google Play. On iPhone, search for “iQIYI – Movies & Series” in the App Store.
- Create an account using Google, email, or phone number. Without an account, you can still watch videos, but your history will disappear when you switch devices.
- On the home screen, swipe through the genre tabs or use the search function. A VIP badge on the episode indicates content from the paid plan; the rest open with an ad.
- In the player, tap the gear or subtitle icon and choose Portuguese. On the same screen, you'll find the resolution: leave it on automatic for Wi-Fi and lock it at 480p when using mobile data.
- Tap "Favorite" on the series page. It will be added to your list, and the app will notify you when a new episode is released.
iQIYI - Movies, Series

WeTV is the international version of Tencent Video, which owns a large portion of the Chinese dramas that have become a sensation. The lower rating on the chart isn't a reason to skip it: for those who follow Chinese productions, this app has the catalog.
- Install “WeTV: Asian & Local Dramas” on Google Play. On the App Store, the name is “WeTV Asian & Local Dramas”.
- Sign in with Google, email, or phone.
- Use the search function by title in English or Portuguese; many Chinese dramas have both names listed.
- In the player, the subtitle icon opens the language list; choose Portuguese. If a title only offers English, the Portuguese subtitles usually arrive after the release.
- Favorite the series to create a list and receive notifications when a new episode is released.
WeTV: Asian and local drama
AndroidCrunchyroll for those who want anime.
For anime, Crunchyroll offers a subscription-based catalog with audio and subtitle options depending on the title. Check the current regional offer; previous free selection announcements do not guarantee permanent access without a plan. Dubbing and subtitles may arrive on different dates, and the interface allows you to choose from the available tracks.
Install “Crunchyroll: Anime Streaming” on the Play Store (on iPhone, just “Crunchyroll”), sign in with your email or Google account, and use the queue to save what you want to watch.

In all four apps, the subtitle language is set up in the player: tap the screen during the episode, look for the speech bubble or gear icon, and choose Portuguese (Brazil). Viki goes even further and has a subtitle size adjustment in the app settings; increase it by one or two levels, and reading on the bus will no longer require squinting.

On Android, the path is Settings, Accessibility, Subtitle Preferences (the name changes slightly depending on the manufacturer). There you define the size, font, and background, and players that follow the system standard will then comply. On iPhone, it's Settings, Accessibility, Subtitles & Closed Captions, Style. Open an episode after adjusting: if the app didn't adjust, the adjustment will be in the player itself.
How many ads will you see and who pays the bill?
For services offering free episodes with ads, the number and format of the breaks vary. There is no universal ad duration for all apps. Subscription trials, on the other hand, have their own eligibility and renewal conditions and should not be confused with permanent free access.
Exhibition rights and commercial agreements influence the catalog and access model. A title may be exclusive to a plan, temporarily free, or removed from regional offerings. Advertising does not guarantee that all costs or productions will be covered, and a subscription does not eliminate country restrictions.

- Higher resolution: It usually requires more data, but the total varies depending on video compression. Avoid planning your trip with a fixed number of episodes per gigabyte.
- Automatic quality: The player adapts playback to the connection and settings. Check if there is a mobile data limit and observe the actual usage, without assuming that you are always using maximum quality.
On Wi-Fi, choose a quality setting compatible with your connection; on mobile data, use the available data saving options. Check your remaining data allowance and consider other phone usage. New episode notification and its list.
The drama has episodes released on a fixed day, and the app notifies you if you allow it. From Android 13 onwards, the system asks on first launch if the app can send notifications; those who tapped "Don't allow" in a hurry can fix it in Settings, Apps, app name, Notifications.
Within the app, notifications of new episodes originate from the "follow" or "favorite" button on the series page. Following also builds your watchlist, and that watchlist is the difference between opening the app knowing what to watch and scrolling for ten minutes. Two routines help:
- Try more than one app: The catalogs are almost never repeated, and the series you're looking for might be in just one of them.

Stream to TV from your mobile phone
Check if your app, plan, and TV are compatible with Google Cast or another streaming method. In many cases, your phone and receiver need to be on the same network. If the icon doesn't appear, check compatibility and permissions before installing another app or changing your router.

Do I need to create an account?
Account requirements vary depending on the service and offer. Logging in typically allows access to lists, preferences, and history, but does not automatically unlock paid content. Use the registration method provided in the installed version and check the terms and age requirements.
Does it have dubbing?
On Crunchyroll, many anime have Portuguese dubbing, and the option to switch between them is available in the player. On Viki, iQIYI, and WeTV, the rule is original audio with Portuguese subtitles; dubbing appears in only a few titles.
Can I watch it without internet?

Why did a K-drama disappear from the app?
The license has expired. The studio leases the title for a specific period and by country, and when the contract ends the series disappears, sometimes only to reappear on another app. Following the series helps: if it disappears, you notice it immediately and can look for it on other apps.
Does the app charge for anything hidden?
There may be free installation, paid content, and trials that renew automatically. Read the price, frequency, and benefits before confirming. Manage your subscription through the channel where it was contracted; deleting the app does not cancel a recurring charge.
Does it work on iPhone?
The services have versions for iPhone, but features, compatibility, and prices may vary compared to Android. Check the details on your device and review the options for the title. The existence of a feature in another version does not guarantee that it is included in your plan.
